Re: BILL No. 117, Draft 2
Please replace Bill No. 117 with the enclosed Draft 2 of this same bill.
Bill No. 117 transfers the duties for training, appointment and the authorization of power of
humane officers from the Finance Director to the Police Chief. All references made about the
Finance Director within the Hawaii County Code, Section 4-32.1 should have been changed
to Police Chief. Unfortunately, the last sentence within item (b) of that section still mentions
the finance director.
Draft 2 corrects this oversight by replacing "finance director" with "police chief'.
