Workplace Protection
Please protect workers in all busiresstis including restaurants, bars and bowling alleys
from the health consequences of second hand smoke which is a Class A Carcinogen
(same as asbestos & radon). Over 50,000 deaths each year in the U.S, are directly attrib-
uted to exposure to second hand smoke.
Studies of communities that have gone smoke free show it does not negatively affect
business and sometimes boosts it. This is according to studies that use sales tax data and
sound research methods.
USA Today survey showed more than half of Americans say they regularly avoid places
to keep from smelling of cigarette smoke afterward. Places they avoid: bars/lounges
(70%) night Clubs (59%), restaurants (48/)
