I am anon-smoker and have usually avoided smoking facilities. I currently work in Marketing at the Kilauea Military Camp in Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. As of December 7, 2002, all ICMC facilities became smoke-free including the Lava Lounge. While this may have had a negative impact on smokers, I feel it is a benefit to non- smokers like myself who at times would like to enjoy a drink in a social setting such as a lounge but choose not to because of the smoke and the smell. As part of my marketing responsibilities, Ihave had to attend events in the Lava Lounge and have always left the lounge smelling of smoke. Since [also wear contacts, the smoke tends w be a problem for my eyes as well. With the new directive, it has been a lot more pleasant being the Lava Lounge when I have to work in there. Please accept this as written testimony in support of this bill. Thank you in advance for your consideration. Please contact me if you have any questions. Sincerely, Arlene Bali P.O.
