I have been reading about your position on the smokiatg bill and I am very sad to say that
it is extremely disappointing that you are taking such stand on a bill that has such
tremendous health benefits for all the community members of this county.
Even if a few businesses were to close because of the bill -which is an unfounded
assumption -the financial impact of medical expenses, lost work time, and workman's
compensation costs related to second hand smoke in the work environment far exceeds
any projected loss from the bars.
The goal is not to put bars out of business. The goal is to protect Commndlty
members, and that is your responsibility to the county as a councilman.
Please reconsider you position. You have the opportunity to either go
down in history as a proponent of heightened community awareness and
responsibility, or as a puppet of select party interests.
Please make the right decision. If you do not support the Smoking Ban,
your ethical and moral character values will being going up in smoke,
and in a few years it will be meaningless.
