Please pass Bill '160, Draft 3. Exclusions such as bars, common spaces in hotels,
daycare facilities and the 15 foot standoff from doors and openings are
unnecessary and I understand that Chairman Arakaki may bring forward Draft 9,
which includes these exclusions.
In your travels, I'm sure that you've noticed many other states which have passed
smoking bans in all public places, my goodness, even in airports! I recall in So.
CA., when this type of tan came up years ago, the bars and restaurants were
worried about losing customers. Of course, their customers didn't like the ban,
but they did not lose bLSiriess at all. If there's a complete ban, then there's no
where to go, so they wi71 return to their favorite businesses without smoking
while they're there. Fedple are now used to the concept.
Please do not cave in tc Chairman Ara kaki's Draft 4. Vote firmly in support of
good health and to ban smoking in public places. Workers, as well as customers,
are entitled to breathe clean air.
