My Warne is Scrcnc Silvcnnan-Kacsur and I am a voluntocr worker for the Department of
Health's Nutrition and Physical Activity Coalition and I strongly support Bi11260
without exemptions, which would et~ectively prohibit smoking in all workplaces,
recognizing the importance of providing a sate working environment for all employees.
1 work as a substitute teacher and !believe the message being sent out today by voting
Draft ii6 and having no smoking in restaurants, bars, nightclubs, taverns, daycare centers.,
senior citizen homes will give a message loud and clear to young people that second hand
smoke is dangerous to your life and they will tx;comc more aware that second hand
smoke is the 3`~ most preventable cause of death in the USA., now that it is in the
forefront of the news media and the conversation in people's lives to&ay. This will
chance young peoples future to a healthier one and Hawaii can say that we are the
HEALTH STA"I'E.!!!!!
W'e need safe working conditions FUR EVEKYONE, regardless of whether they are
smokers or not and WE NEED T(> MAKE Tl1E PL.4YIN(i FIELD LEVEL!!
