Please proCett workers in all. busirtes5es including restaurants, bars and bowling alleys
from the health consequences of secondhand smoke which is a Glass A Carcinogen
(same as asbestos ~ radon). Over 50,000 deaths each year in the U.S. are direttly attrib-
uted to exposure to second hand smoke.
Studies of communities that have gone smoke free show it does not negatively affett
business and sometimes boosu it. This is atc~f ding to studies that use safes taz data and
sound research methods. e
USA Today survey showed more than half of Americans say they regularly avoid places
to keep from smelling of cigarette smoke afterwattl. Places they avoid: barsllounges
(70%) night Globs (59%), restauranu (48%)
