This grant is a result of congressional funding for mitigating the consequences of weapons of mass destruction threat to the State of Hawaii. State Civil Defense has been designated as the recipient of the total allocated grant funds. Hawaii County is the final recipient of $254,500. The performance period for this grant ends on January 31, 2004. Funds provided by the grant can only be expended to purchase personal protective equipment; chemical, biological, and radiological detection equipment; decontamination equipment; and/or communications equipment that enhance the capabilities of State and county first responders. The terms and conditions of the grant are enclosed for your review. If you agree to the requirements of the grant, please sign and return the original. Upon receipt of the signed memorandum, payment to Hawaii Civil Defense Agency will be made on a cost reimbursement basis.
