Memorandum of Agreement for
FY 2002 State Domestic E ui ment Program Grant Funds
The State of Hawaii has received approval from the Department of Justice, through
the Office of State and Local Domestic Preparedness Support, for the release of State
Domestic Equipment Program grant funds. This grant is a result of congressional
funding to prepare for the potential consequences of a weapons of mass destruction
threat to the State of Hawaii.
State Civil Defense has been designated ~s the recipient of the total allocated grant
funds. Hawaii County is the final recipient of $591,051.00. The performance period
for this grant ends on July 31, 2004.
Funds provided by the grant can be expended to purchase personal protective
equipment, chemical, biological, radiological detection equipment, decontamination
equipment, selective explosive device mitigation and remediation equipment, physical
security enhancement equipment, medical supplies and pharmaceuticals, and general
support equipment that enhances the capabilities of State and county first responders.
Approved Detailed Budget Worksheets have been provided to your Civil Defense
Agency.
The terms and conditions of the grant are enclosed for your review. If you agree to
the requirements of the grant, please sign and return the original to State Civil Defense.
