~~~~~~AS, Section 10-11 of thu County Charter requires that any contract, ;ease or other obligation requiring
payment of funds from the appropriatons of a 12ter fiscal year or more than one fiscal year be approved by resolution; and
'~}"~I~I~i~~AS, it is essen+ial for the County of Hawaii to have a minimum of twelve (12) dependable truck tractors
opera`«?g seven (7) days per weals isl.-nd45~ide for solid waste operations; and
W~,5, the County has hAro (2) 1991 and one (1) 1994 truck tractors with excess€ve high mileage, +nshich need to
be take;
~ out of rRgular service due to maintenance costs which exceed their valuation; and
~~`EI~~AS, rental costs to replace the truck tractors while they are under repair could exceed $50,000; and
f~H~~AS, the County wishes to enter into a five (5) year contract to lease with purchase options for three (3) truck
tractors for solid s~~aste operations.
