Dear Chairman Yagong and Members of the Public Works
and Parks Committee:
At the duly held public hearing and meeting on May 27, 1997,
the Hawaii Redevelopment Agency did review and discuss the
request for sign variance from the Hawaii Tribune-Herald as
referred by the Public Works and Parks Committee. The Agency
found that the sign was acceptable and, by unanimous vote,
recommends approval of the request.
In a related matter, Mayor Yamashiro referred to HRA your
letter dated May 21, 1997, regarding committee members' request
for information to gain a better understanding of the
jurisdictional and functional relationships between HRA and
County departments, including the County Council. We are in
