SUBJ: Resolution 74-97 - Condolence Resolution ~ or ~
Kenneth K. Keliipio
On Wednesday, April 23, 1997, Resolution 74-97 was presented to the
Keliipio Family as an expression of condolence from all
Councilmembers over the recent loss of their son, husband and
father, Officer Kenneth K. Keliipio. The resolution, however, had
not been approved or adopted by the Council nor was it placed on the
Council's Order of Business for action.
Robert's Rules of Order states, "the motion to ratify (also called
approve or confirm) is an incidental main motion that is used to
confirm or make valid an action already taken that cannot be legally
valid until approved by the assembly."
To this, I am requesting that Resolution 74-97 be placed on the next
Council meeting's Order of Business in order for it to be ratified,
validating action taken by the Council on April 23, 1997.
