Enclosed is your record copy. A total of $479,400 is available for Hawaii County to support equipment requirements identified by amulti-disciplined planning <;ommittee representing County Civil Defense, Fire, Police, Public Health, HAZMAT, and Emergency Medical Services. An additional $120,000 is available to hire an individual within the county to assist Civil Defense in administering the homeland security grant programs. These funds are an extension of previous Office of Justice grants awarded to the county for first responders, State Civil Defense will continue to work closely with your agencies to ensure County needs are met to the extent funding is available and will also ensure reimbursements are made promptly for all equipment purchases.
