Subject: Bill ] 39 -Request for Deferral
Dear Chairman Arakaki:
This is to request that the County Council defer action on Bill 139 when it comes up for first
reading on September 17, 2003.
The Finance Committee, when it approved this bill, requested additional information from
Executive Assistance William Kenoi. Mr. Kenoi is attending the Lieutenant Governor's Drug
Summit in Honolalu this week and will be unable to attend the council meeting. Therefore,
we would appreciate your cooperation in defemng this matter to the next council meeting,
scheduled [or October 8, to afford Mr. Kenoi an opportunity to provide the requested
information.
