Re: Operating Budget
Enclosed is a resolution accepting a contribution of $19,000 from the Hawaii Alliance
for Community Based Economic Development, 677 Ala Moana Boulevard, Suite 702,
Honolulu, Hawaii 96813. These funds will be used towards the administering and the
operating of the Hawaii County Resource Center.
Also enclosed is a bill for an ordinance amending the Operating Budget by appropriating
the $19,000 to the Hawaii County Resource Center account.

A. REQUEST:
Prepare a resolution authorizing the acceptance of $19,000 from the Hawaii Alliance for Community Based
Economic Development (HACBED) for administering and operating the Hawaii County Resource Center
(HCRC). Please send a letter of appreciation to the Hawaii Alliance for Community Based Economic
Development, c/o Bob Agres, 677 Ala Moana Boulevard, Suite 702, Honolulu, Hawaii 96813.
Also, please prepare a bill for an ordinance to appropriate the $19,000 to the Information Resource & Grant
Center account(#010-161-5162.98).
B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED):
Council action is being requested to accept and acknowledge a contribution of $19,000 by the Hawaii
Alliance for Community Based Economic Development. These monies will be used for the Hawaii County
Resource Center. HCRC links Hawaii Island communities to county government and works to facilitate
collaborative efforts; a resource center that empowers its communities and county government to locate,
secure, and utilize all available resources and technology to achieve greater strength and increased funding.
