Re: Use of Prior Year Funds
Enclosed is a resolution authorizing the appropriation and the use of prior year funds
resulting from the cancellation of a purchase order for the Department of Parks and
Recreation. A purchase order for tennis court materials, issued during last fiscal year, was
canceled due to volunteers not being able to complete a resurfacing project for the tennis
courts at the Old Kona Airport. These funds will be used to purchase materials for other
ongoing Friends of the Park projects during this fiscal year.

Re-authorization of $5,344 unencumbered funds available due to the cancellation of
a purchase order
B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED):
Purchase order number 22861 was cancelled due to volunteers not being able to complete a
resurfacing project for the tennis courts at the Old Kona Airport. We would like to request a
resolution authorizing the appropriation and use of prior year funds resulting from the
cancellation of this purchase order. Funds will be used to purchase materials for other ongoing
Friends of the Park projects for this fiscal year.
