Re: Resolution Transferring Funds
Enclosed is a resolution transferring $23,000 out and from the Landfills Equipment and
crediting it to the Landfill Salaries and Wages account.
Funds are available in the Landfills Equipment account due to the expected savings of around
$35,000 resulting from the purchase of an 8 CY Dump Truck instead of the 10 CY Dump
Truck that was originally budgeted.
The funds being transferred into the S&W account will be used to fill an unfunded Equipment
Operator III position (position number 4249) for the Solid Waste Division in Kona. The volume
of waste being handled in Kona has been steadily increasing and the current staffing level is
no longer adequate to handle the workload. Funding this position will reduce the overtime
and the workload strain on the existing employees at the site.

A. REQUEST:
A resolution authorizing the Department of Environmental Management to transfer funds to fill a previously
unfunded Equipment Operator III position for the Solid Waste Division in Kona. The funds will be transferred
from the Landfills Construction and Repair Equipment account. Funds are available in that account due to
expected savings of around $35,000 resulting from the purchase of an 8 CY Dump Truck verses the 10 CY
Dump Truck that was originally budgeted. The following transfer is requested:
