Information on Bill 162
This memo is to clarify questions raised by Mr. Tyler regarding Bill 162.
Mr. Tyler: Is this a re -placement vehicle for an existing vehicle, or is this an additional vehicle?
The Nutrition Program currently has one hotshot vehicle. This new vehicle will be an
additional vehicle which will provide back-up as well as increasing additional mutes for
the home -delivered meals program.
Mr. L vier: What have you been doing without this vehicle?
The Nutrition Program has been using the one hotshot vehicle. However, every time
there is a break -down, it is very disruptive since there is no back-up vehicle.
Mr. Tyler: Where is thi i vehicle going to be based?
The vehicle wil. be based in Hilo.
Mr. Tyler: Who is going to pick up the operational cost for this vehicle?
The Nutrition Program will be picking up the operational cost for this vehicle.
Mr. Tyler: Do they (Nutrition Program) have this budgeted?
Yes they have budgeted the operational cost in anticipation of receiving this vohic�

The current vehicle is 2 years old.
Mr. Jocobsen: What is this Hotshot vehicle?
A hotshot vehic le has the capability of transporting both hot and cold meals. This vehicle
is used to maim ain certain temperatures while delivering the meals.
