Re: Dedication Deed: Keaau Community Center
Grantor: W.H. Shipman, Limited
TMK: (3) 1-6-143:041
We have reviewed the deed for the property above and recommend Council
acceptance.
For years, the Keaau Community Center has housed senior programs for the
Elderly Activities Division and is staffed by their Program Director. It also serves
an important role as a community gathering and meeting facility, and as such, is
open to the public for reservations. It is the only available facility for this type of
activity in the Keaau area, and therefore it is in the department's best interest to
accept fee title.
Preparation of preliminary ADA plans to address the site and bottom floor are
ongoing, and the funding is available for completing future renovations for ADA
accessibility.
