HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 125 Draft 01 2002-2004 COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII RESOLUTION NO. 125 03 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE OFFICE OF THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE STATE OF HAWAII DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION, PURSUANT TO HRS 46-7, FOR A PUNA REGIONAL CIRCULATION PLAN GRANT WHEREAS, the State of Hawaii Department of Transportation, through its State Planning & Research (SPR) program, has authorized funding towards the Planning Department's Puna Regional Circulation Plan; and WHEREAS, this grant will be used to develop along-range regional transportation circulation plan for the Puna District, the most rapidly growing district in the County; and WHEREAS, this regional circulation plan will have multi-modal focus and identify the transportation needs relative to alternative future land use scenarios and the specific implementation measures such as regulatory changes or CIP proposals; and WHEREAS, the funds provided by the State Department of Transportation, are derived from grants provided by the federal government; and WHEREAS, Hawaii Revised Statutes, Section 46-7, requires that county departments obtain the consent of the council to enter into agreements with the federal or state governments respecting action to be taken pursuant to any of the powers granted by law to furnish, expend, and receive any funds or other assistance in connection with projects being or to be undertaken pursuant to those powers. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the Office of the Mayor is authorized to enter into an Agreement for a Grant Contract with the State of Hawaii Department of Transportation. EE IT FURTHER RES®~VE® that the Mayor of the County of Hawaii is authorized to sign the above-referenced agreement and any related documents on behalf of the Office of the Mayor and the County of Hawaii pursuant to the Hawaii County Charter. EE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Clerk of the County of Hawaii shall transmit copies of this resolution to the Office of the Mayor, the Finance and Planning Departments, and the State of Hawaii Department of Transportation.
