Re: Acceptance of Donations
In accordance with (1) Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter, which authorizes
the Council, on behalf of the County, to accept gifts or donations of personal property, and with
(2) Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162 (c), of the Hawaii County Code, which states that any
donation or gift which does not fall within the capitalization procedures of the department of finance
shall be submitted to the council by letter for its approval, we request the Council's approval of the
following donation:
A washer and dryer (estimated total value of $600.00) to the Department of Parks &
Recreation's Pana`ewa Rainforest Zoo; to be placed at the Zoo Service Building to wash
towels and bedding material used when injured or sick animals are housed in the service
area; by the Friends of the Zoo, Jean Curtis, President, P.O. Box 738, Kea`au, Hawaii 96749.
We ask that a letter of appreciation be sent to the donor.
If there are any questions, please do not hesitate to call the recipient Department.
