RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF PLAYGROUND EQUIPIIlIENT FOR THE
VOIAI`®FIINU PAR14
1dVHEREAS, the Friends of Wai'ohinu Park, as part of the Parks and Recreation's Friends of the Park
Program, has donated keiki playground equipment, for ages 1-5, for the Wai'ohinu Park; and
UVHEREAS, the playground equipment will be installed by the Friends of Wai`ohinu Park volunteers and
has an estimated total value of $17,868.64; and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter provides that the Council, on
behalf of the County, may accept gifts or donations of personal property; and
WHERI=AS, the Department of Parks and Recreation recommends the acceptance of this donation.
NOUV, THEREFORE, 13E IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAIIVAI`I that in
accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter, the Council of the County of Hawaii
accepts this donation.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation and a copy of this resolution be sent to
Friends of Wai`ohinu Park, c/o Ms. Cathy Lewis, P. O. Box 197, Na'alehu, Hawaii 96772, acknowledging this
generous donation.
