RESOLUTION NO.
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING TFIE ACCEPTANCE OF SIX (6) SETS OP LOCK DISPLAYS TO
THE HAWAII COUNTY POLICE DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, the Solution 2003 -Neighborhoods in Action is donating six (6) sets of lock displays for the
Hawaii County Police Department's Community Policing Officers to educate the community on how to slow
burglar entry, to deter some crime, and to protect their homes and businesses better; and
WHEREAS, the lock displays, with an estimated total value of $565.00, will be used at Neighborhood
Watch meetings to teach residents and business owners about the type of locks that may make their homes
and businesses more burglar resistant; and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter provides that the Council, on
behalf of the County, may accept gifts or donations of personal property; and
WHEREAS, the Hawaii County Police Department recommends the acceptance of this donation.
NOW, THEREFORE, 03E IT RESOLVED SY THE COUNCIL OF THE. COUNTY OF HAWAII that in
accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter, the Council of the County of Hawaii
accepts this donation.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation and a copy of this resolution be sent to
Solutions 2003 -Neighborhoods in Action, c/o Ms. Lillian Beaufrere, 73-1403 Kaika Place, Kailua-Kona,
Hawaii 96740, acknowledging this generous donation.
