The National Park Service.believes that the development of a North Kona Wastewater Improvement District is essential to maintaining Class AA waters along the Kona coast as well as protecting anchialine pools, fishponds, and neazshore waters from wastewater pollution. As you may know Kaloko-Honokohau National Historical Park installed a temporary sewer line from its new visitor contact station to the wastewater treatment~plant. However we view this arrangement as a temporary fix until a permanent line can be installed. We do want the Council to know that the pazk is willing to pay its fair share costs for this Improvement District. Thank you for this opportunity to comment on this proposed resolution. We look forward to working with Hawaii County on this important project for the protection ofKona's unique environment. tom. Geraldine Bell Superintendent Comm. No. "f 1• Ref. TO• ~reaa Ref. Uate
