Dear Councilman Elarionoff:
This is a request [o hoM the meeting of the Hawaii County Planning Committer in Kailaa-Kona
when the above item is on the agenda and being considered. At a Planning Commission meeting
on November 7 in Kailas-Kona, Nani Kona Aina, LLC's proposal was presented for the
following:
a. State Land Use Boundary Amendment for 14.53 acres from the Agricultural to the
Urban District
b. Change of Zone for 14.53 acres from the Agricultural 5-acre (A-Sa) to the Single
Family Residential - 10,000 square foot (RS-10) district
Many residents of the adjoining neighborhoods of Kona Heights and Kailua View Estates
testified about their concerns on this issue. As a result, the Planning Commission voted 5-2 to
deny the rezone request.
This is a very important matter to many homeowners in Kailas-Kona. We strongly urge you to
hold the meeting here.
