WHEREAS, the Nakahara family would like to donate two (2) basketball backboards to the Department
of Parks and Recreation for the Pa`auilo Gym, in the name of Thomas Nakahara; and
WHEREAS, the backboards has a total estimated value of $1,518.00; and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter provides that the Council, on
behalf of the County, may accept gifts or donations of personal property; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation recommends the acceptance of this donation.
NOW, THEREFORE, 13E IT RESOLVEID BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that in
accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter, the Council of the County of Hawaii
accepts this donation.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVE® that a letter of appreciation and a copy of this resolution be sent to
Scott Nakahara, DDS, P.O. Box 235, Honoka`a, Hawaii 96727, acknowledging this generous donation.
