Dear Chairman Arakaki and Council Members:
It is my pleasure to inform you that I have appointed Ms. Laura Dierenfield of
Council District 9 to the County of Hawaii Bicycle/Pedestrian Safety Committee.
Ms. Dierenfield is a lifelong resident of Hawaii and is currently employed by
Labman Hawaii, Inc. as a research coordinator. She also is a freelance writer
and awriter/reporter for North Hawaii News (Donrey Media). She is active in the
community as a member of the Friends for Fitness Coalition, race director for the
Lavaman Youth Biathlon, a medical research coordinator for the Ironman
Triathlon, and a volunteer with the Kona Office Cultural Festival, Ultraman
Triathlon.
Ms. Dierenfield states that she is not affiliated with any political party. She will
serve a term coterminous with my term. She replaced John Luchau, who has
resigned.
