Dear Chairman Arakaki and Council Members:
It is my pleasure to nominate the following individuals to the County of Hawaii
Liquor Commission.
Council District 2 - Ms. Jan K. Yokoyama is a lifelong resident of Hawaii and is
currently a Public Health Nurse with the State of Hawaii, Department of Health.
She has served as a past board member of the American Diabetes Association
of Hawaii, past president of the Hawaii Association of Diabetes Educators, and a
past member of the Board of Physical Therapy. She currently serves as the
treasurer for the Hawaii Alliance for Community Health, and is the block
coordinator for the Kaumana Cave Neighborhood Watch.
Ms. Yokoyama states that she is a member of the Democratic Party. If
confirmed, she will serve a term to expire on December 31, 2008. She will
replace Mr. Gary Yoshiyama, whose term expired on December 31, 2003.
Council District 8 - Mr. Mark F. Fujimoto is a lifelong resident of Hawaii, and is
currently employed by HPM Building Supply. He serves as District Director for
the Aloha Council and as a director for the Kona Exchange Club. Mr. Fujimoto
previously served on the Liquor Commission from 1989-1993.
Mr. Fujimoto is not affiliated with any political party. If confirmed, he will serve a
term to expire on December 31, 2008. He will be replacing Mr. Earl Eckart,
whose term expired on December 31, 2003.
