ai'i Count}_Y9~nter marijuana radi •~tion agreements
It has come to m}• attention that not onl}• is the continued marijuana eradication
program ineffecti~•e, but it has also been inappropriate as e}•e~~~itnessed b.• mam of
our residents ~~•ho ga~•e testimon~• regarding these efforts. In~•asion of pri~•ac}• as ~~ell
as ~ iolation of human rights ~~•ere some of the unresoh•ed issues cited in this matter..
Education is the onh• long-lasting deterrent to drug abuse, and our count}• efforts
should be dig erted to this end.
In addition, greement" being_tzLes-ented is nebulou a~ b t ~n~1 X11 otlr
coon "~_S9~ngage in further abuse of it nforc mPnr powers and usP of ~rPne;~
funding. As has been witnessed b.• our count-, our la~~• enforcement agent}• is
presently under scrutin}• for its lay management and possible ~ iolation of county la~~ s.
An.• agreement ith he Federal go~•ernment should be iron-clad in its restrictions to
prey ent further abuses of authority as ~~•ell as to render am• use of mone}~ effecti~~e.
I am a taxpa~•er of the LJ.S. Gov't, not just Hawaii Count~•. It behoo~ es us to see that
our federal dollars are spent ~~•isel~•. If this mone} is a~~ arded to our count}•, 1 ill be
sure to alert federal officials of m~~cvncerns.
1`Iahalo for ~~our attention on this important matter.
