RESOLUTION CHANGING TIME ELEMENT OF A RECREATION TECHNICIAN III
1/2T TO FULL TIME
WHEREAS, Position no. 2831, Recreation Technician III 1/2T, SR-13, was created for the
Pana'ewa Park in November 2000 to provide organized recreation and programs for the Pana'ewa
Hawaiian Home Lands Community; and
WHEREAS, outdoor sport programs; daily art and craft projects; seasonal and holiday
activities; and summer fun, winter recess/intersession, spring recess/intersession, and fall
intersession programs are offered at Pana`ewa Park; and
WHEREAS, within the past three years, the program offerings and facility use at Pana'ewa
Park has grown tremendously; and
WHEREAS, presently, this position directs diverse and creative recreation program activities
mostly for after school hours for the children; and
WHEREAS, by increasing the time element of this position from half time to full time, the
additional hour (4) hours a day will allow the staff to offer expanded activities for the teenagers, young
adults, and the Kupunas and to develop stronger ties with business and community associations; and
WHEREAS, that there are sufficient funds available in the Recreation Division Regular
Salaries and Wages account (010-500-5507.01-011).
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII
that Position No. 2831, Recreation Technician III 1/2T, SR-13, be changed to full time.
