Hamakua Timber sincerely encourage Vou to please fund the l~awaii c^'
County Police Department in their efforts to eradicate marijuana. Sind we
began our business on the Hamakua Coast in March of 1996, the Hawaii County
Police Department and other law enforcement agencies have used the airstrips
that are currentl}' on our lease lands several times for marijuana eradication.
Although we do not have reports to support haw successful these efforts
were, the amount of illegal plant material on our leased lands appear to have
reduced significantly.
We do not condone fflegal activities on p~.~blic property as well as pnvate
property. Your continued funding of marijuana eradication will undoubtedly
help eliminate these illegal activities on public and private properties.
Again, Hamakua Timber urge you to please fund the marijuana
eradication efforts by Hawaii County Police Department.
