zoning change requests in Kona, please consider that the current traffic grfdlock o
situation in Kona, while developing over a period of years, has deteriorated extremely
rapidly Just over the course of the last year, The exponential rise In the number of

of the "big boom" in condo/ res[dential protects currently under construction. Aad the
projects under construction are just a portion of the projects that have already been re-
zoned and permitted.
There are residents here that want to see no further development, and residents
That want w see development with concurrent infrastructure, but almost nobody wants to

changes in Kona until, at a minimum, the Queen Kaahamanu Righway has four lanes

I am well aware that planning has not even started for four-laving the Queen K

years or more. This delay provides plenty of time for the council to prepare a referendum
question to insert into the ballot at some upcoming election and find out how many of the
citizens welcome continuing development with appropriate infrastructure and how many
would prefer to keep the island more 4.r less as It is.
