Aloha Mayor Kim,
After serving several very enjoyable terms as a member of the Hawaii County Committee
on the Status of Women, I find that it is time to step aside, and let others serve in my place.
New perspectives and diverse ideas aze often what keep any organization functioning at its
optimum. I believe there are many individuals in Hawaii County who could offer much to
the Committee on the Status of Women.
I very much appreciate your faith and trust in appointing me to this position, and I hope
that I can continue to serve perhaps, another day and in another way for the betterment of
our friends and neighbors in Hawaii County. For now, I need to attend to my own family
and their copcerns.

Dear Mayor Harry Kim,
I would like to thank you for the letter dated October 22, 2003, in referance to my
membership on the County of Hawaii Fire Commission. I am concerned about my
position as a Fire Commissioner and I want to thank you for the chance in a life time to
serve in the capacity that I was allowed.
I apologies for not being in attendance as regulazly as I should, the reasons for not being
able to leave my work are irrelevant at this time. Since May of this year, my mother's
health has become a major concern and I have decided to take caze of her at home in
Hana, Maui.
Please accept this letter as my resignation from the County of Hawaii Fire Commission.
I am truly grateful for the oppurtunity to have served as a Fire Commissioner. Take caze
and God bless.

Deaz Mayor Kim,
I regret to inform you that I will be unable to continue to be on the Family Violence
Commission. It has been difficult to either spend time traveling when there has not been a
quorum and also to have different days scheduled when our initial agreement was to meet on
Fridays. I had thought that I would have a replacement for my slot on the commission, but the
person that I would have recommended is not available.
Thank you. I shall be sending this by fax as well as mailing to you so that the Commission
has this letter in time.
Sincerely yours,

Dear Mayor Kim:
It is with regret that I must resign my appointment with the Committee on the Status of Women
effective December 31, 2003. This is necessitated by an increasing workload as warden of
Hawaii Community Correctional Center. I have gained new friendships and knowledge during
my tenure. I appreciate the opportunity this experience has provided.
I hope that in the future, I can become more involved and will continue to monitor the
achievements of this committee.
Sincerely,
Be Iramina

Dear Mayor Kim, January 26, 2004
It is with great regret that I must inform you of my decision to resign my position
with the County of Hawai'I Family Violence Advisory Commission because of a
new job I have taken at Kua 0 Ka La Public Charter school.
The new hours of my job conflict with the meeting times.
Domestic violence is a great concern to me, therefore, I think it is better to step
aside and make room for someone who has the time available to commit to the
Commission.
Mahalo nui loa for the opportunity to serve on the commission and represent the
people of Puna.
Please feel free to call on me if I can be of further service.
Aloha pumehana,
Emily Naeole
