RE: Request To Withdraw From Consideration: Bill 19 and Bill 192 (Draft 2)
The above bills were introduced for consideration in early 1994. owever, solid waste is no
longer under the Department of Public Works. It is now under the jurisdiction of the newly
created Department of Environmental Management. This change was mandated by charter
amendment number 4 in 2000. Ordinance 02-66, effective date May 10, 2002, amends
Chapter 20 and 21 by replacing the Department of Public Works with the Departrnent of
Environmental Management. Any further amendments should be drafted using cun•ent
language in the Code.
In light of the above, there is no need for further consideration Bill 192 and Bill 192 (Draft 2).
Therefore, I am withdrawing them from any further consideration.

Spoke to Connie and she said it would be okay to dispose of these two bills by withdrawing
them from consideration. This would save time and eliminate having to make l'S sets of
copies of the two bills.
