Re: Acceptance of Donations
In accordance with (1) Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter, which authorizes
the Council, on behalf of the County, to accept gifts or donations of personal property, and with
(2) Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162 (c), of the Hawaii County Code, which states that any
donation or gift which does not fall within the capitalization procedures of the department of finance
shall be submitted to the council by letter for its approval, we request the Council's approval of the
following donation:
A $1,500 monetary donation to the Department of Parks & Recreation, for the Recreation
Division to purchase sleeping cots to be used by halau members during the annual Merrie
Monarch Festival and used for camping activities during intercessions and summer fun, by
Mr. Keali`i Ceballos, Kumu Hula of Halau Keali`i O Nalani, 2039 Corinth Avenue, Los
Angeles, CA 90025.
We ask that a letter of appreciation be sent to the donor.
If there are any questions, please do not hesitate to call the recipient Department.
