RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DONATION OF TWO (2) ZOLL AED PLUS
AUTOMATED EXTERNAL DEFIBRILLATORS TO THE DEPARTMENT OF PARd(S & RECREATION'S
AQUATICS DIVISION
WHEREAS, the American Heart Association of Hawaii and the Harry and Jeanette Weinberg
Foundation, Inc. have donated two (2) Zoll AED Plus Automated External Defibrillators to the Department of
Parks and Recreation's Aquatics Division; and
WHEREAS, the two (2) defibrillators, which will be used at the Kawamoto Swim Stadium and the Kona
Community Aquatic Center for emergency responses to cardiac arrest, have a total value of $4,400.00; and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter provides that the Council, on
behalf of the County, may accept gifts or donations of personal property; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation recommends the acceptance of this donation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that in
accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter, the Council of the County of Hawaii
accepts this donation.
BE 1T FURTHER RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation sent to Ms. Karen Seth, Program Director,
American Heart Association of Hawaii, 245 N. Kukui Street, Suite 204, Honolulu, Hawaii 96717-3985,
acknowledging this generous donation.
