RE: An Integrated Resource Planning (IRP) Process Presentation by Hawaii
Electric Light Company.
This is to inform you that Hawaii Electric Light Company (HELLO) will make an
Integrated Resource Planning (IRP) process presentation on March 4, 2004 at the Human
Service and Economic Development Committee meeting.
The IRP process is a process for determining a utility's long-range (20-year) plan for
energy efficiency and ca~servation programs, as well as existing and new electricity
generating facilities. IRP is the electric utility's version of the County's General Plan.
The IRP is a planning process required of each energy utility in the State of llawaii to
systematically and thoroughly develop long-range plans for meeting Hawaii's future
energy needs. Thank you.
