Mr. ,Samuel Sumner is a 13-year resident of Hawaii who currently is employed by the State Department of Education as a Special Education teacher. Not affiliated with any political party, if contirmed. he will be replacing Mr. Mack Asato whose term expired on December 31, 2003, and will serve a term to expire on December 31, 2008. Mr. Arnold T. Okamura is a life-long resident of Hawaii. Mr. Okamura is recently retired from the U.S. Geological Survey, Department of the Interior, as the supervisory geologist for the Hawaii Volcano Observatory. Not affiliated with any political party, if confirmed he will be replacing Ms. Anne Plack, whose term expired on December 31, 2003. and will serve a term to expire on December 31.2008.
