THE COUNTY OF HAWAII WATER BOARD
From Mayor Harry Kim, dated February 20, 2004, submitting for contirmation
the following nomination to the County of Hawaii Water Board.
Mr. Thomas S. Goya is alife-long resident of Hawaii who is retired tiom the
Hawaii Electric Light Co. as the manager for Customer Service. Not affiliated
with any political party, if contirmed, he will serve a term to expire on December
31, 2008, replacing Mr. John Tolmie whose term expired on December 31, 2003.
Comm. 538: APPOINTMENT OF MR. CHRISTIAN K. ALAMEDA OF COUNCIL
DISTRICT 2 TO THE COUNTY OF HAWAII PLANNING COMMISSION
From Mayor Warry Kim, dated February 23, 2004, submitting for contirmation
the following nomination to the County of Hawaii Planning Commission.
Mr. Christian K. Alameda is a life-long resident of Hawaii who is employed by
the State of Hawaii Department of Health as a Behavioral Specialist and
Consultant. Not affiliated with any political party, if conlinncd, he will serve a
term to expire on December 31, 2008, replacing Ms. Florence Kubota whose term
expired on December 31, 2003.

Bill 265: AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 25 (CONING CODE) OF
(Draft 3) THE HAWAII COUNTY CODE, RELATING TO SCENIC CORRIDOR
(Comm. 99.9) OVERLAY DISTRICTS
This bill will serve as a policy framework for the creation of Scenic Corridor
Overlay zones in the County of Hawaii. However, for an individual highway
to be designated as a "Scenic Corridor", a separate Corridor Management
Plan and accompanying enabling ordinance would be required to be
approved by the County Council. Such an ordinance will establish standards
and conditions speciTc to an individual section of highways.

(E3ill 231) THE HAWAII COUNTY CODE, RELATING TO SCENIC CORRIDORS

the above bill.
(This bill provides for the establishment of Scenic Corridors along portions
of public roadways. Includes provisions on criteria, minimum corridor
length, permitted uses, initiation, and notice requirements, review and
approval process.)
