SUBJECT: TRAFFIC CODE AMENDMENT
South Glenwood Road
Proposed speed limits.
The Fern Forest Community Association requests speed limits be authorized along the County portion of South
Glenwood Road from Route 11. We conducted a speed study consisting of trial runs and conclude that 35 miles per
hour is appropriate for this section of South Glenwood Road.
We request the Hawaii County Code, Chapter 24, Section 24-257, Schedule 5 (35 mile per hour limit) under Puna
be amended as described in the attached draft for an ordinance. A location map is attached.
Under separate cover, we are transmitting the proposed ordinance to the Public Works Committee Chair for
introduction.
We ask for your review and consideration for adoption of the subject amendment. Should you have any questions
