This letter is regarding &11230 that is before you for consideration. It Involves lowering the speed limit on
Kalako Drive to 35mph. We arc opposed to ehb change. We Feel lowering the speed !unit is not necessary
and would be a hlndrana to those of a who Live fn the area. The speed Ymit the w0.y it ie now 1s Ane and is
adhered to by most of the reeldente. In a densely populated area such v Ka'Unlnani Sveet In Kane
Pdisadea those 35mph ratrlcUOns are valid and naceesery. We believe those who ue observed speeding are
from out of the ue0. and are mwtly young. We in the Kaloko Nbdivision ue more concerned with
protecting ourselves from burglaries, drugs, and vsndaL'sm. Our vary amdl Kona police fora would not
have the tune or manpower to enforce those kinds of speed rntrletlons on Kdoko Drive. We wish that
somehow the money tlut might be available to put up new aped limit algtts could be allocated inrtead to
beefing up our Kona police force,
