Re: Attached Resolution in regazd to Konno vs. The Countv of Hawaii
Attached is a resolution authorizing the retention of special counsel by county officials in
their individual capacities in lawsuits relating to county contracts that allegedly violate
civil service law.
In order to expedite this matter, please agendize this resolution for the June 2, 1997
Council meeting.

RE: Attached Resolution in regard to Konno vs. The County of Hawaii
Pursuant to Section I (e) of Rule 4 of the Rules of Procedure of the County of the Council of
Hawaii, this written approval is submitted in regazds to Resolution No. 98 ,relating to
authorizing the retention of special counsel by county officials in their individual capacities in
lawsuits relating to county contracts that allegedly violate civil service law, be numbered and
waived from the Committee on Finance in order that appropriate action can be taken by the
Council at the June 2, 1997 meeting.
In reviewing the contents of the referral, it is deemed advisable that such a waiver be granted.

SUBJ: Res . 98-97: Retention of special counsel
The Hawaii County Council at its meeting held Monday,
June 2, 1997, adopted the above-mentioned resolution, which
authorizes the retention of special counsel by County
Officials in their individual capacities in lawsuits
relating to County contracts that allegedly violate Civil
Service Law. This matter was waived to the full council
from the Finance Committee.
