RE: 1997-1998 Real Property Tax Rate Resolution
Attached is the proposed resolution to set the real property tax rates for the County of Hawaii for
the fiscal year July 1, 1997 to June 30, 1998.
Pursuant to Section 19-90, Hawaii County Code, the Council conducted public hearings on the
proposed real property tax rates in Kona and in Hilo on May 13 and 20, 1997, respectively. No
rate changes from the previous year have been proposed.
For your information, Chapter 19-90(b) requires the Council adopt the resolution fixing the tax
rates on or before June 20th.

RE: 1997-1998 Real Property Tax Rate Resolution
Pursuant to Section 1(e) of Rule 4 of the Rules of Procedure of the Council of the County of
Hawaii, this written approval is submitted in regazds to Resolution No. 97-97, relating to the
1997-1998 Real Property Tax Rates.
Due to the time constraints set forth in Chapter 19 of the Hawaii County Code, I" am requesting
that this resolution be numbered and waived from the Committee on Finance in order that
appropriate action can be taken by the Council at is June 2, 1997 meeting.
In reviewing the contents of the referral, it is deemed advisable that such a waiver be granted.

SUBJ: Res . 97-97: Real Property Tax Rates
The Hawaii County Council at its meeting held Monday,
June 2, 1997, adopted the above-mentioned resolution, which
determined the real property tax rates for the County of
Hawaii for the Fiscal Year July 1, 1997 to June 30, 1998 .
The approved rates have not changed from current tax
rates . This matter was waived to the full Council from the
Finance Committee.
