SUBJECT: Bill fora $40 Million GeneratOb ation Bond Or finance to Finance Road and
Highway Construction Projects in orth and out Kona, Puna, and South Kohala
Attached please find a bill for an ordinance authorizing the issuance of general obligation bonds
not to exceed $40 million for the purpose of financing critical and overdue highway construction
and road improvement projects.
To address the needs discussed in the purpose section (Section 2) of this ordinance, 1 have
proposed an apportionment of the proceeds among the districts.
welcome your thoughtful consideration and discussion of this bill. It offers the Council an
opportunity to finance long-needed road construction projects on a scale commensurate to the
needs of our County.
