SUBJECT: Cost Items, Hawaii Government Employees Association - o
Bargaining Units 02, 03, 04, 13 and Employees Excluded from those
Bargaining Units
ht accordance with Sections 89-I I (e) and (g), HRS, attached for Council action is a
resolution authorizing the appropriation in future fiscal years of funds to cover the cost'items
awarded by the arbitration panel to resolve the impasse between the employers and the
Hawaii Government Employees Association (HGEA) for bargaining units 02, 03, 04, 1'~ and
employees excluded from those bargaining units. The settlement covers the period frorh July
I , 2003 through June 30, 2005. Cost items presented for your consideration are across-jthe-
board increases, step movements, and an increase in mileage reimbursement. All costs,are
payable in the last year of the proposed agreement.
Attached as exhibits to the resolution are schedules showing the total cost of these various
adjustments over the two years of the contract.
