Dear Chairman Arakaki and Council Members:
It is my pleasure to nominate Ms. Diane Gentry of County District 5 to the County of
Hawaii Board of Appeals. Ms. Gentry is a lifelong resident of Hawaii and is a
facilitator/trainer for Unlimited Learning. She is a member of the Board of Directors for
Papa Ola Lokahi and Hui Malama. She is a past facilitator for the Community
Empowerment Organization, and a former board member of the Bay Clinic. Ms. Gentry
states that she is a member of the Republican Party. If confirmed, she will serve a term
to expire on December 31, 2007. She will replace Mr. Hugo Coutandin, who resigned.
