Dear Chairman Arakaki and Council Members:
It is my pleasure to nominate Mr. Bernard M. Konanui of Council District 5 to the
County of Hawaii Water Board. Mr. Konanui is a lifelong resident of Hawaii and
is a retired police officer for the Puna District. Currently, he is aself-employed
woodturner. Mr. Konanui states that he is not affiliated with any political party. If
confirmed, he will serve a term to expire on December 31, 2008. Mr. Konanui
will replace Raymond Kawamata, whose term expired on December 31, 2003.
