Dear Chairman Arakaki and Council Members:
It is my pleasure to nominate Pastor Ernie Cruz of Council District 5 to the
County of Hawaii Police Commission. Pastor Cruz is a 30-year resident of
Hawaii and serves as a pastor with the New Hope Christian Fellowship. Mr. Cruz
is also a musician and a former "big rig" driver. He states that he is a member of
the Democratic Party. If confirmed, he will serve a term to expire on
December 31, 2008. Mr. Cruz will replace Walter Moe, whose term expired on
December 31, 2003.
