RE: Waste Reduction Technologies: Requ Foa
Resolution 180-04 (Draft 3), relating to expediting the process to bring online one
of the three waste reduction technologies listed in the Integrated Solid Waste
Management Plan, sets a deadline of September 30, 2004 for the preparation and
dissemination of an RFP (Request For Proposal). However, there are many issues related
to the RFP process that remain unclear. To try to address some of these issues, Ted W.
Vorfeld, President of Hualalai Engineering has offered to answer questions and offer
observations on the RFP process to any interested council member. He is very
knowledgeable and has a wide range of experience in waste reduction technologies. In
fact, he recently drafted an RFP for the City and County of Honolulu. He can be reached
