Aloha, Chairman Arakaki and Council members:
Please vote against the plan by Cllfto to develop the property at O'oma. I tried
to attend the last hearing held in Kona, but was fumed away on the Saddle Road by hail.
I am wholeheartedly opposed to this project
This 300 acres of coastal land situated between OTEC and Kohanaiki is one of the
last wild vistas in Kona. The development is poorly conceived and does not reflect good
planning policy. Tha community en masse has spoken out against this project, which as
projected will add a huge new hotel, shopping mall, and luxury home complex In an area
far from existing services, cause more traffic, arid ruin the open space we treasure. Do
you really want to stretch the infrastructure of the County to the breaking point?
If the plan is not killed at the first reading or deferred on April 21 st, I ask that the
final decision-making hearing on this project be heard in Kona to afford the west side
residents most affected a fair chance to tat you know how they feel.
Please include my testimony in the Council record.
